Tommy Smith is a Lead Market Strategist within the FirstNet Market Strategy & Development team supporting FirstNet initiatives and development. In his current role, Tommy curates market strategies, influences specific market segments, and helps shape the overall market development strategy that contributes to FirstNet’s success at the Federal, State and Local levels of government. Prior to joining AT&T, Tommy spent nearly three decades working in public safety in the Colorado Springs Fire Department, Redmond Fire Department, and Dorchester County, SC., where he served as Deputy Chief, Fire Chief and Deputy Administrator of Public Safety, respectively. During his career he has held many certifications: NIMS – 100, 200, 300, 400, 700 800 & Instructor, fire Instructor, Fire Officer, Incident Safety Officer, Hazardous Materials Operations, Fire and Life Safety Educator, Colorado Metropolitan Certification Board Evaluator III, Incident Command System Train-The-Trainer, Public Information Officer, National Registered Paramedic and Tactical Emergency Support team member. Today, Tommy supports the FirstNet organization by developing market strategies and engaging with market segments including Fire, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), and National Guard & Defense. Tommy holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Organizational Management with an emphasis in Human Resources from Colorado Christian University. Throughout his nearly 30-year career Tommy has been a member of many professional associations. He currently resides with his wife Andrea in Dorchester County, South Carolina.
